CEMAC technologies is proud to announce a new partnership with German safety innovator U-TECH, bringing the TÜV certified U-TECH FLEX personal protection system to the Australian recycling and waste industry.

UTECH has been providing innovative safety technology across manufacturing and processing industries since 2003. The new U-TECH FLEX offers cutting-edge protection for workers through intelligent and contact free wearable technology.

Designed specifically for busy and hazardous environments where humans and machine work in close proximity. This proactive system uses real-time RFID (Radio-Frequency Identification) and machine integration to alert of possible encroachment of the hazardous zone and if required shut down the machine to prevent serious injury, dramatically improving workplace safety.

“The introduction of U-TECH FLEX marks a major step forward in safety and wellbeing for recycling operators in Australia,” said Eric Paulsen, Managing Director at CEMAC technologies. “The system is extremely low maintenance, allows managers to monitor compliance and is precisely adjustable. By partnering with U-TECH, we’re delivering future-proof technology that protects people without compromising productivity. This will make the industry a much safer environment and make it equally more attractive to the workforce."

The system triggers machine safety circuits, alerts operators and can control machinery, when personnel enter predefined danger zones. This offers a reliable layer of protection that can work in conjunction with existing safety systems. The solution is simple to install and can be customised to fit a wide range of plant layouts and machine configurations. Whether for small material recovery facilities or large-scale recycling operations, U-TECH FLEX enhances compliance with evolving safety standards and demonstrates a strong commitment to worker wellbeing.

“U-TECH FLEX is not just a safety system—it’s a mindset shift,” says Heike Munro, Managing Director of U-TECH. “This partnership with CEMAC technologies gives Australian recycling operators the opportunity to show their skilled workers that they take safety seriously and minimise risk of disruptive and costly workplace accidents."

CEMAC technologies will provide installation, training, and local support to ensure seamless implementation across Australian recycling facilities.
