Press Release: EREMA wins Plastic Recycling Award Europe 2026

At the Plastics Recycling Show Europe, which took place in Amsterdam from 5 to 6 May 2026, recycling machinery manufacturer EREMA was honoured with the Plastics Recycling Award Europe 2026 in the “Recycling Machinery Innovation” category. The award was presented for the VOLEX technology, with which EREMA has significantly improved degassing performance in mechanical plastics recycling.

Ansfelden, 19 May 2026 – The award recognises a technological innovation that responds to the increasing requirements placed on recycled materials for demanding applications. The jury praised the remarkable innovation, which allows to achieve a high level of degassing performance: the VOC (volatile organic compounds) content in the recycled pellets is up to 40 per cent lower than that achieved with INTAREMA® TVEplus® degassing system and up to 75 per cent lower than that of the input material. At the same time, fogging effects – particularly relevant in injection moulding applications – are significantly reduced.

“We are delighted to receive this award. With the VOLEX technology, we are addressing concrete market requirements in post-consumer recycling that arise from the PPWR and other regulatory frameworks,” says Clemens Kitzberger, Business Development Manager at the EREMA Group, who accepted the award in Amsterdam. “What is crucial is the ability to implement high regranulate qualities in a scalable and economically viable way. We see clear added value for our customers in being able to supply more recycled content for higher-value end products.”

The award was given to the VOLEX technology with water stripping, which EREMA unveiled at K 2025. Building on the experience gained from market introduction and various material trials, the process has since been further optimised. VOLEX is now also available in a version without water injection, enabling recycling companies to select the most suitable configuration for their specific requirements.
