Visy’s Smithfield Material Recovery Facility – one of Australia’s highest-capacity recycling plants - has successfully installed a new WESTERIA Feeding Bunker System, supplied by Cemac technologies,  which will support future capacity increases and enhance overall operational efficiency.

Thanks to the modular design of the WESTERIA MovingFloor® system, installation was completed over a single weekend.

To minimise disruption to regular operations, the Visy team meticulously planned every stage from pre-assembly to shut down. Their smart engineering, including modular installation techniques and the sourcing of locally manufactured components, enabled the efficient installation of large floor sections.

The MovingFloor® system ensures reliable dosing of all material types, supporting a smooth, continuous flow. It’s designed for long-term adaptability, with simple maintenance and fast delivery.

Alongside the floor, a new dosing system was installed. Visy worked closely with CEMAC technologies and WESTERIA to design a solution that would integrate the dosing drum to the existing infrastructure, ensuring a seamless fit and uninterrupted operations.

The dosing drum roller maintains consistent material supply, even when fully loaded. WESTERIA’s sealing system prevents jams and supports durability and easy maintenance. Adjustable roller heights were tested to optimise performance.

CEMAC technologies thanks Visy  for choosing the WESTERIA system and for their exceptional collaboration throughout the project. This installation stands as a testament to effective planning, engineering innovation, and teamwork—all while minimising disruption to ongoing production.
